WOW Already!

WOW!
Can you believe the Fall 2007 semester is already here? I feel like we were just out and about traveling and meeting students applying to TMC and now our students have arrived for our annual week of welcome!
We in admissions are so excited to see our students on campus. It can get pretty quiet during the summer...TMC just isn't the same without the whole family here! And for any of you who had the opportunity to visit campus this summer, you know we have had alot of changes. A few things to admire on campus are:
  1. remodeled dorms (living it up in Hotchkiss!)
  2. new sidewalks and green grass (perfect for walking down to brunch with the whole wing and the lawns are great for studying)
  3. new TMC fountain (right outside the Admissions office)!

But the best change of all is seeing our new students finally here and having way too much fun during WOW. Ahh, life must be hard for them as they hang out at the beach, relax at professors' homes for dinner and run down the slip and slide...all before classes begin next week!

We really are so thankful for all of the students God brought to The Master's College this year. Not only do we trust they will have fun getting to know campus and making life friends, we trust they will be grown spiritually through the classroom, chapels and student life community. TMC truly is a college desiring to be more like the Master, Jesus Christ and we are so thrilled to be a part it all!

Spring 2007

The arrival of our new students for spring 2007 is only a week away from today. The Admission's Office is excited for everyone who is coming and it should be a blast as you start your time here at TMC.

It is also hard to believe that we are half way done with the school year. The Master's College starts up on the 22nd of January and gets done on May 11th. As most of you know we are already looking forward to our fall 2007 students who are coming too.

Don't forget to leave a comment if you have a question about the college!!!

colorado roadsign

Hmm...is this a sign?

Denver Snow

It snowed in Colorado!
Ok, I will admit it...I have never driven in the snow. I know, it does snow in California...sometimes, but I have never been behind the wheel while a winter wonderland is happening. Well, this week, Denver, Colorado had it's first snowfall. I was a little nervous, at first, but God has been so kind and I have had a pleasant time admiring His creation while navigating the state.
Ok, got the snow thing down...now to visit some high schools!

Youth for Christ!

While Erin is on the east coast and Nathan and Shannon are on the west coast, I, Sarah, have been...on the middle coast? I am in COLORADO! I arrived on Monday, in time for the annual Youth for Christ Conference, happening thoughout this beautiful, rocky-mountain state. Colorado Springs, Denver and Fort Collins have hosted a college fair for all of you interested in learning more about where God will have you attend school. Have you began your search? I would love to meet you and share about The Master's College! Come to the final fair in Denver, tonight! What better place to pick up information and chat about the BEST COLLEGE ever!?

sweet home, santa clarita

There is something so sweet about flights home. As exciting as it was to fly to the South, I am glad to be back in Santa Clarita, California. My flight arrived this afternoon at LAX...perfect Fall weather and I was greeted by the best Admissions Director, Hollie Gorsh...another reason working for The Master's College is such a blessing. God is so good to have allowed me to travel safely and meet fellow believers around the country. His goodness is also revealed in the warm welcome I received coming back to the office. Until my next trip to COLORADO, for the Youth for Christ Conference!!!, it's laundry and catching up on sleep!
For those of you in Atlanta, be sure to go to the college fair at Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, October 27th and 28th! Our office is praying for you as you are discerning God's will in your life! Please never hesitate to contact us with any questions about TMC or just general college preparations!

georgia on my mind

Whew...I made it to Georgia just in time for the college fair at Augusta Christian Schools! What a trip (4 1/2 hours on the 20 East)! It was a pretty drive, with lots of green trees to enjoy and of course, Waffle Houses and Cracker Barrels to stop and taste. The South just isn't Southern without these famous places to dine! I stopped at a Cracker Barrel and just loved the friendly hospitality! I had a few extra minutes to peak at the gift shop, too. Too cute...ok, back to the fair...

It has been such a great week getting to meet students and their families and sharing about The Master's College. As a former student of TMC, I am able to tell others how God used our college to teach me about Him. He did this through the classes, through chapel and through so many believers I lived with on-campus. I must admit it was a little scary moving from home into the dorms, but I am SO THANKFUL for the time I could spend as a student at TMC. God used my roommate and the leaders in the dorms to display His grace and sovereignty over my life. I love being able to tell others about my experiences in the dorm (Sweazy dorm, that is!). Where else do you get to live with 80 other Christian girls? It was really a sweet time in my life....I think a tear is coming...ahh, love those dorms!

I think people have been surprised that I have come to Georgia all the way from California. I count my job as a blessing, to travel and tell people about our school and the amazing ways the Lord can use TMC in their lives, too.

Today I am headed to The Church of Macedonia, in Jackson, Georgia. I am so excited to meet some of the high schoolers tonight at Youth Group. It's about 2 1/2 hours away so better get traveling! I hope you have enjoyed reading about our trips! I'll be back with more pictures (by the way, I REALLY wanted to get a picture of me standing half on Alabama and half on Georgia but didn't want to risk my life breaking on the middle of the freeway...I know, it's silly, but a thrill for me!).

beautiful birmingham

Today was my first full day in Birmingham, Alabama. I was able to visit local schools and chat with teachers and students about The Master's College...awesome! Here are some pictures I took while on the road.

Off to visit schools! I must admit it's a learning experience navigating yourself through new places. It always helps to review my directions several times before I take off...it never hurts to have a little assistance from Starbucks, either!

Hueytown, Alabama led me to...

Garywood Christian School. This school reminds me of my high school so much...I think it was this country mailbox that reminded me of home. I enjoyed my visit to this school and hope to see some of you at TMC one day! Later today I traveled to this school in Birmingham:

Parkway Christian Academy.
This evening I attended the Briarwood Christian School college fair. I was able to meet some really nice families. There were alot of people who had heard of our college and it was exciting to see how the Lord has connected us through friends and teachers at The Master's College. We really do live in a small world!
Tomorrow I am headed to Augusta, Georgia for a college fair. I will keep you posted with my travels in the South! So long for now!

some southern charm...

Well, I made it to Birmingham, Alabama today. It was a very early morning, leaving LAX in Southern California...a little too early for me as I tried to check-in at the wrong terminal and almost missed my flight! Thankfully, I was able to board the plane and was ready to navigate through the city after a much needed nap.
Birmingham is beautiful today. The sun is shining and there is a light breeze...ahh, the South. Green grass, tall trees and gorgeous brick homes...what a treat! I'm just getting ready to head out to schools in the area tomorrow and a college fair tomorrow night. I'm so excited to meet some of you. Are you from the Birmingham area? Come to the fair at Briarwood Christian School!
Keep checking this blog for more updates from all of our trips!
